Rishikesh is gateway to some of the beautiful treks in Garhwal Himalayas such as Source of the Ganges, Kuari Pass, Valley of Flowers, Har Ki Doon, Chopta – Chandrashila, Dodi Tal, Khatling Glacier and many more. All our treks are organised privately and there are no group tours on sharing basis.

Short Treks Rishikesh: Day Hikes Near Rishikesh

Kunjapuri Trek: Kunjapuri Trek is most popular half day trek near Rishikesh. Many people prefer sunrise trek. First you need to reach Kunjapuri Temple by car. For the temple there are 300 steps. Temple is located at the height of 1670 meters. You can enjoy amazing views of Himalayas at the sunrise time. During the winter season you can see snow clad mountains from here. Later you will trek down. This trek is 9 kms dow hill trek. During the trek you will see some farms, mountains, some mountain homes and much more. The trek will end at Neergaddu waterfall. You can also take bath at the waterfall if you want. This trek can be done throughout the year but during the July, August  (Monsoon season) the trek is more difficult and sometime the minor landslides can create block in trek route. Kunjapuri Temple is 25 kms far from Rishikesh and Neergaddu Waterfall is 5 kms far from Rishikesh. The starting and ending points are different in this trek.

Neergaddu Waterfall: 4 kms far from Tapovan / Lakshman Jhula area on Badrinath road. From main road 1.5 kms dirt road will take you to base of waterfall where small artificial swimming pool is just 100 meter trek from main road. Later 1.5 kms trek (one way) will take you to main big waterfall. It also has artificial swimming pool near it. The main waterfall is approx 25 feet high.

Patna Waterfall: Patna Waterfall is small water in patna village on Neelkanth Temple Road. Waterfall is named after the village near it called Patna. This waterfall is not as big as the Neergaddu waterfall. Similar 1.5 kms trek one way. Little hard trek compare to Neergaddu waterfall due to wet rocks.

02 Days Trekking Tour

Kota Mala Trek: This trek is 01 night 02 days trek from rishikesh. Overall in 02 days you will trek for 14 kms and stay in mountains in tents. Highest point is 1600 meters. It is ideal trek for short experience of trekking in himalayas. For your first trek in himalayas this will be ideal trek for you short and sweet.

Long Treks:

Source of the Ganges: This is the most famous trek in Garhwal. Normally it requires 5 days from Rishikesh. During this five days 3 days you required trekking of total 38 kms. If you have some more days you can add tapovan to it. Gaumukh is at the height of 3890 meters while tapovan is located at 4360 meters. The best time for this trek is from May to November apart from july august (due to monsoon). 

Chopta – Chandrashila: One of the best trek for first timers. This trek is provides very good flexibility. For the half day trek in high altitude and himalayan mountain views you can do 03 days tour from Rishikesh or you can add 01 or 02 days more days for more trekking experience into it. There are permanent camps are also available at chopta. Chandrashila is located at 4000 meters height. You can also have one more night stay at deorial tal. This trek can be done throughout the year.

Kuari Pass: Auli Kuari Pass Trek is considered as one of the best trek treks in India for the views of Himalaya. This trek is also known as Lord Curzon Trail. It requires 06 days from Rishikesh for this trek. Kuari Pass is located at the altitude of 4260 meters. Kuari Pass trek provides amazing views of Mana, Kamet, Dunagiri & Abl Gamin which are all more than 7000 meters height. Kuari Pass trek is starting from Joshimath / Auli. Short tours normally ends at the same place but for longer treks you can end your tour at Ghat. Trek is open throughout the year. Avoid monsoon time for the trek.

Valley of Flowers: Valley of flowers is world heritage site. Valley of flowers is often considered as one of the most beautiful places in India. Best time to visit is only july and august month as it is the only time when you will see more flowers. Stay is not allowed at Valley of flowers so you need to stay at Ghangharia. Normally you need 05 to 07 days for this tour. Valley of flowers is located at the height of 3500 meters. Valley of flowers trek starts from Govindghat near Joshimath and also ends at the same place. Ghangharia has some permanent camps as well as few hotels.

Har Ki Doon: Har Ki Doon is also good trek for first timers. Normally it requires 08 days from Rishikesh. Trek start from Sankari Village. Average height is 3500 meters. October to March it is covered by snow. In winter season it becomes ski slopes. You will reach Jaundhar Glacier and will return after that. Har Ki Doon is cradle shaped valley in Garhwal Himalayas.
